VLS-Group Logistics Netherlands B.V. has been A.E.O. assessed by Customs Authorities in The Netherlands.
Since April 2009 VLS-Group Logistics Netherlands B.V. has been awarded the Authorized Economic Operator status by Customs Authorities in The Netherlands.
An AEO is defined as: "a party involved in the international movement of goods in whatever function that has been approved by or on behalf of a national Customs administration as complying with WCO or equivilant supply chain security standards".
AEO accredited companies are entitled to privileges with regard to security and safety-related customs inspections and simplifications of customs regulations and procedures. In order to apply for the AEO status, VLS-Group Logistics Netherlands B.V. needed to demonstrate the Customs Authorities in The Netherlands testable customs and financial accounting as well as proven financial security. In addition VLS-Group Logistics Netherlands B.V. had to demonstrate a transparent organisation of their customs processes and appropriate security procedures against unauthorized access to goods and data.
Based on the strict procedures of VLS-Group Logistics Netherlands B.V. in respect of the Safety, Health, Environment & Quality standards like ISO 9001:2008 and HACCP certifications, as well as the SQAS (Safety and Quality) Assessment by Cefic, all processes at VLS-Group Logistics Netherlands B.V. were in place to comply with the AEO status. The AEO status is valid for the whole European Union.
